MINUTES
The MINUTES of the meeting held on 6th September 2016 were confirmed and signed. Proposed Cllr Seager- Berry seconded Cllr Steer
MATTERS ARISING
The clerk informed the Council that he had not yet received the buddle hole map from Devon Highways. The chairman told the Council that he would follow up the necessary work to the play park gates. It was noted that the Ugborough road had been well repaired by Devon Highways. Clerk instructed to send letter of appreciation to the officer concerned.
REPORTS
District Councillor Steer reported that a new locality officer had been appointed.
He informed the Council of ongoing work looking at the devolution of responsibility for work from the County to the District authority. He is taking a keen interest in discussions concerning the proposed District company which would seek to generate income for the District Council. Cllr Steer updated the Council on the Sherford development which is now well under way.
Councillor Seager-Berry reported on the recent meeting of the Flood Committee. The clerk was asked to contact SWWA and Devon Highways to request the cleaning of all of the drains through Avonwick to help prevent flooding during the winter months. It was suggested that the Council should consider increasing its precept to allow for ongoing maintenance of the Parish buddle holes.
Councillor Grevatt reported on the recent successful Apple Pie Fair which had attracted support from far and wide. The Community Hall Project Group were grateful to the Parish Council for the use of the play park land. The Council expressed its appreciation of the work of those involved in ensuring the success of the fair. Cllr Grevatt also informed the Council that it would need to renew its website hosting in November.
PLANNING
The Council gave its support to a retrospective request for a side shed enclosure at 6 Jubilee Cottages, Avonwick. The Council had no comment to make over the application for a studio extension to the rear of the garage at 7 Higher Moor, Avonwick.
