There were no members of the public present. Concern had been raised over the state of the surface of the bridleway at Cobbly Walk, Avonwick, (Toll bridge end). Action clerk. The noise level at some of the functions being held at Baron’s Hill was mentioned. This is to be monitored by the Council. The Council was informed of a family day taking place on 2nd September at the Avon Inn. This would raise funds for future use. Concern had been raised over the protruding kerb stones at the side of the road passing Higher Moor. This has already been discussed with Devon Highways who stated that the road had been deliberately formed to encourage drivers to drive within the speed limit in the village and thus enhance road safety.

MATTERS ARISING
It was reported that the Buddle Hole at Lupridge was being dealt with.
REPORTS:
District Councillor Steer reported that it had been a rather quiet month at Follaton. The possible merger of South Hams District Council with West Devon Borough Council was the centre of much discussion at the moment. The District Council is keen on attracting a widespread involvement of residents and others, who would be affected by such a merger, in the decision making process. The advantages and disadvantages of the proposal would be discussed at a number of meetings which are open to the public on the dates/times shown below. It was felt important that Parishioners should make their feelings concerning the possible merger known to Parish Councillors who would then pass this information on to the District Council.
PLANNING:
The Council was informed that applications for development at:
1 .Huish Cross (dormer window),
- Huish Barn (French window)
- 6 Higher Moor (new bedroom/study) and
- The Avon Inn (new kitchens and dining room) had all been granted.
