OPEN FORUM:
Members of the Primrose Trail Group outlined the aims and objectives of the group in trying to construct a cycle track/footpath from Kingsbridge to South Brent following, as far as possible, the track of the old railway line. Further news of this will be made available as work progresses.
Concern was raised over the amount of litter along the Avonwick – Woodpecker road. Action clerk.
PRESENT
Councillors Bell, Gabriel, Grevatt, Hunt, Luscombe, Seager-Berry and District and Parish Councillor Steer.
APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
County Councillor Hosking.
MINUTES
The MINUTES of the meeting held on 6th March 2018 were confirmed and signed. Proposed Cllr Bell seconded Cllr Hunt.
MATTERS ARISING
Cllr. Grevatt outlined the requirements of the new General Data Protection Regulation which comes into effect on 25th May 2018. He is to establish what relevant data is held by the Council and what measures need to be undertaken to ensure that the Council complies with the Regulation. The clerk is to liaise with other local councils to see if there would be any advantage to be gained from the councils working together on this.
REPORTS
District Councillor Steer informed the Council that the Joint Local Plan had been put before the inspectors who deemed it to be basically sound. When put in place this plan will provide the basis for future development within the District. Councillor Steer wished to thank the local community for its positive spirit shown during the recent bad weather.
CORRESPONENCE:
UK Cycling Events informed the Council of its “Dartmoor Demon” event which would pass through Avonwick on Saturday 5th May. Noted
FINANCE

The clerk was asked to determine the ongoing costs of the defibrillator.
HIGHWAYS
Damage was reported to the road surface near Wayside Cottage.
Water was a concern on the road near Marriage.
Potholes were reported in the road at Horsebrook and at Blackhall. Action clerk.

The Annual Meetings of both the Parish Council and the Parish would take place on Tuesday 1st May 2018 at 7.30pm at St James’s Church, Avonwick.
