OPEN FORUM:
The Council was informed of a recent request from the brother of a deceased parishioner of North Huish for permission for the burial of the deceased’s ashes to be made in the graveyard of St Mary’s Church, North Huish. It was explained to the applicant that this request fell outside the remit of the Parish Council. Contact was made with the Rev. Sayle of Diptford who agreed to take this request to the Parochial Church Council for consideration. Because the graveyard at St Mary’s Church is now closed it was not possible for the PCC to grant the requested permission. It was suggested that the PCC should be approached to ask them to consider the possibility of Parishioners placing a small plaque in remembrance of their deceased relatives in an appropriate location within the churchyard. Action clerk.
The temporary speed limit for road works applied to the road between South Brent and the Woodpecker was questioned by parishioners. The limit has been in place now for a number of weeks and no apparent work seems to have been undertaken. Action clerk.
The accumulation of litter at the side of the slip road from the shell garage towards South Brent needs attention. Action clerk.
