OPEN FORUM:
The Council was informed of the threat of flooding caused by a large tree trunk located at the side of the river near Avon Grove. Devon County Council to investigate this.
PRESENT:
Councillors Gabriel, Grevatt, Hunt, Luscombe and Seager-Berry.
APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE:
District Councillor Steer and Councillor Bell.
MINUTES
The MINUTES of the meeting held on 5th November 2018 were confirmed and signed.
MATTERS ARISING:
No one has yet been found to undertake the repair to the Cobbly Walk sign. Action clerk.
The clerk informed the Council of the requirements of the Council’s insurers regarding the inspection of the play park. It was agreed that Councillors will each take on a monthly responsibility to inspect the park on a weekly basis and determine what, if any, maintenance needs to be undertaken. Proposed Cllr Hunt seconded Cllr Grevatt.
CORRESPONDENCE
Specific items of CORRESPONDENCE were noted as follows:
The Council decided not to provide a grant for Citizens Advice South Hams
FINANCE:
Balance c/f 8,400.21 Income (interest) 0.36 Balance c/f 8,400.57
The Council agreed to pay invoices for:
- Cutting of play park (By Bacs) Proposed Cllr Luscombe seconded Cllr Grevatt.
- Clearing of Buddle Proposed Cllr Hunt seconded Cllr Seager-Berry
- Payment of Web hosting Proposed Cllr Luscombe seconded Cllr Hunt.
The Council considered the proposed budget for 2019-20.
It was agreed to raise the precept to £2,968 which together with the Council Tax Support Grant of £32 and interest of £3 means that the Council will have an income of £3003 in the year 2019-20.
HIGHWAYS:
The clerk was asked to contact Devon Highways to seek information regarding the placing of advertisements at the side of roads.
