OPEN FORUM:

The Council was asked who was responsible for the defibrillator in Avonwick. It was agreed that the Council accepted responsibility for this. Councillor

Grevatt agreed to register the defibrillator with the emergency services.  Councillors were told of concerns over the use of a field on the South Brent road for dogs. SHDC had been made aware of this.

PRESENT:

Councillors Bell, Gabriel, Grevatt, Hunt, Seager-Berry and District and Parish Councillor Steer.

MINUTES

The MINUTES of the meeting held on 8th January 2019 were confirmed and signed. Proposed Cllr Seager-Berry Seconded Cllr. Bell

MATTERS ARISING:

The Cobbly Way board is being repaired. The clerk is trying to establish how much it would cost to replace the panel.

REPORTS:

District Councillor Steer told the Council that the new contractors for waste collection would begin their work in May. It is hoped that this would result in an improved service. He informed the Council that the District Council has set a balanced budget for 2019/20. The District Council had drawn on some reserves in order to do this. He reminded the Council of the forthcoming elections in May. He drew the Council’s attention to the judgement of a recent “peer review” group which was very positive about the Council’s work.

PLANNING:

The Council asked for a site visit to be arranged in order to give due consideration to an application for a Permanent Agricultural Worker’s Dwelling at Lower Greenslade Farm, Avonwick

CORRESPONDENCE

Specific items of CORRESPONDENCE were noted as follows: Tree Warden request for the Parish. Cllr. Bell offered to undertake this work.

FINANCE:

The Council agreed to pay the Website costs. Proposed Cllr. Steer Seconded Cllr. Hunt
