OPEN FORUM:
There was one member of the public present. A number of blocked buddle holes were causing concern. Action Cllr Gabriel

Minutes
The MINUTES of the meeting held the on 3rd December 2019 were confirmed and signed. Proposed Cllr. Seager-Berry seconded Cllr. Hunt.
MATTERS ARISING:
The sand and sandbags for flooding defence have been purchased. Thanks to Wakeleys in South Brent for their help with this. The damaged fence on the permissive path in Avonwick has still not been repaired. Action Cllr Gabriel. (NB Firstport Property Management repaired the fence on the day following the Council meeting. Clerk)
REPORTS:
District Councillor Pannell reported that the District Council, having received information regarding its financial settlement from the Government, is now able to set its Council Tax rate for the year 2020-2021. This will be 2% higher than the present year. Cllr. Pannell told the council that the Chief Executive of SHDC will be moving on to a new position.
Cllr Luscombe reported on her recent play park inspection. The welcome sign will need replacing soon, the swing seat is slightly split – no attention needed at present. The gates are swollen and not closing properly – it is thought that this will improve when the weather gets a little less wet.
PLANNING:
Councillors Gabriel, Luscombe and Steer had attended a site meeting at New Park stables North Huish. The Council still objects to this planning request. It is to be considered by South Hams’ planners on the day following this council meeting. Cllr.Steer is to attend.

Email from South Brent Parish Council re. the Inaugural meeting of South Brent’s Climate and Ecological Emergency and Advisory Group. Noted
Email from a parishioner of an adjoining parish re. flooding and buddle holes. Action Cllr Gabriel.
