Present – Cllr Lesley Ring; Cllr Liz Gabriel; Nikki; Christian; Chris; Noel; Matthew
1 To add to the draft plan in order for it’s submission to DRIP
Using template from The Flood Hub/Gov.UK guidance. Can use pre-populated version but need to add some specifics such as water level; volunteers; triggers etc. Amber = check on neighbours/deploy sandbags etc.Be sure to give advice to use tried and tested (by members of the group) apps: Acuweather/Environment Agency/Met.Office. Lesley to add to this. Re flash flooding in Avonwick - some crops are more likely to cause runoff/flooding than others. Is it possible to look into this further?
2. To add to the original list of areas and properties at risk
Add building on the corner of Blackhall Lane to the at-risk list. May have flooded at kitchen door in the past
Add the garage to the at-risk list
3. To review the proposed leaflet and organise distribution
Group agreed that info was correct. To add useful contact details. A5.Lesley to get help to produce eye-catching leaflet (ask Parish Council Clerk?) then group agreed to distribute including on noticeboards/Parish Council info/Facebook etc
4. Map drains
Nikki kindly agreed to do this for Avonwick. Lesley to investigate the Adopt A Drain scheme further
5. To decide whether the group wish to remain a sub-committee of the parish council or become an independent group
Having discussed pros and cons agreed would remain sub-committee of the parish council in order to better access support esp for applying for funding for sandbags/drain clearing etc
6. SWW tankers/attenuation update
Update given in short tankers should now only be deployed when heavy rainfall. Chris will monitor.
7. AOB
